FIFA World Cup 2018: Last gasp England win breaks 2018 TV record

Harry Kane scored a last-minuted header to hand England their first win

England's last-minute win against Tunisia on Monday at the FIFA World Cup 2018 was Britain's most-watched television show of 2018, with a viewership of 18.3 million, as per a leading British daily.

Monday's game om Volgograd, which was decided by skipper Harry Kane's injury-time header, had a 69.2 per cent audience share at its peak, beating last month's royal wedding.

Around three million requests were also made to stream it online, making it the highest ever live audience for an online BBC broadcast.

England won 2-1 and will next play Panama on Sunday.
