USA, Canada, Mexico win joint-bid to host FIFA World Cup 2026

The United States of America (USA), Canada and Mexico, in a partnership have won the bid to become the hosts for the FIFA World Cup 2026, beating Morocco's bid at the 68th annual FIFA congress on the eve of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The United 2026 bid won by 69 votes, which means the World Cup will be hosted in North America for the first time since USA hosted it in 1994.

However, it was a massive disappointment for Morocco, which were bidding to become the second African nation to ever host the World Cup after South Africa in 2010.

The 2014 World Cup was hosted by Brazil, while the 2018 World Cup will be hosted by Russia.
