The UEFA Champions League Game week 2 on Tuesday and Wednesday witnessed some roller coaster results as three-time defending champions Real Madrid suffered a shock defeat against CSKA Moscow, while Premier League heavyweights Manchester United continue their torrid run under Jose Mourinho with a 0-0 draw against Valencia at the Old Trafford. Man Utd’s arch-rivals Manchester City won their first game of the UCL 2018/19 campaign with a narrow 2-1 win over German outfit Hoffenheim. Whereas, a Cristiano Ronaldo-less Juventus defeated Young Boys by 3-0, courtesy of Paulo Dybala hattrick, while German giants Bayern Munich were held by Dutch outfit Ajax.

Let us take a look at the results from UEFA Champions League Game week 2 results:

CSKA Moscow 1-0 Real Madrid

Nikola Vlasic, an Everton loanee rattled the Real Madrid net in the second minute and piled misery on a Ronaldo-less Real Madrid as the Spanish giants continue to struggle. This was Madrid’s third game without scoring for the first time since December 2006-January 2007.

Manchester United 0-0 Valencia

Manchester United continue their torrid form in Jose Mourinho’s third season in-charge as the Spanish outfit Valencia take home an away draw and a valuable 1 point. However, the Reds worked hard but were unfortunate to hit the back of the net at Old Trafford.

Hoffenheim 1-2 Manchester City

Premier League champions Manchester City were taken aback by Ishak Belfodil’s first-minute goal but came back strongly to make a 2-1 comeback after goals by Sergio Aguero and David Silva. Poor referring was again a subject of complaints by the pundits and fans after the match. However, Pep Guardiola stopped himself from talking about it.

Juventus 3-0 Young Boys

A Cristiano Ronaldo-less Juventus witnessed Paulo Dybala score a sublime hattrick to hand the Old Lady a 3-0 victory against Young Boys. Ronaldo have been suspended after a red card against Valencia in the Game Week 1.

Bayern Munich 1-1 Ajax

Dutch side Ajax hold out Bayern Munich for a brave 1-1 draw after Noussair Mazraoui cancelled Mats Hummels opener in the 22nd minute of the match. Bayern kept the possession but failed to capitalise due to their poor finishing in front of the goal.

AEK Athens 2-3 Benfica

Benfica took an early 2-0 lead after Haris Seferovic and Grimaldo scored in the first 15 minutes, but a red card to Ruben Dias spiced up things as Viktor Klonaridis scored a brace to make the last half hour of the match a nail-biter. However, Alfa Semedo scored the winner for the 10-man Benfica to hand them a 2-3 win.

Lyon 2-2 Shakhtar Donetsk

Junior Moraes’ scored a brace was cancelled out by Moussa Dembele and Leo Dubois as the UCL fixture at the Groupama Stadium became an instant classic.

Roma 5-0 Viktoria Plzen

Edin Dzeko run-riot as he scored a hattrick before Cenzig Under and Justin Kluivert added on more goals to provide AS Roma with an emphatic 5-0 rout against Viktoria Plzen.
