A small plane with a professional footballer on board, which lost radar contact over the English Channel on Monday but the news was not confirmed that the aircraft was carrying the athlete as well. Now, as per the British and French media reports, Emiliano Sala, who is an Argentine striker, was travelling from Nantes Airport in Brittany to Wales to complete his transfer to the English Premier League club Cardiff City.
The British coastguard in a statement said that it was assisting Guernsey Coastguard with a search for a light aircraft missing off Alderney in the Channel Islands, but that the plane had not yet been found.
As per the officials, the aircraft took off from Nantes at 7:15 pm local time with two people on board and was flying at a height of 5,000 feet when it was in contact with Jersery air traffic control.

French police said that the plane disappeared from radar near Alderney, which is a small island in the English Channel.
However, police in Guernsey said a search and rescue operation is currently underway and the operation includes two helicopters and a lifeboat.
