Defending Champions of FIFA World Cup, Germany has announced its 27-man provisional squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup which will be played in Russia.
In a major surprise, World Cup-winning goalscorer Mario Gotze has been dropped from Germany’s squad for the mega event.
The Borussia Dortmund start scored in extra time against Argentina in 2014 to give Germany its fourth World Cup.
Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer makes the cut in the provisional squad after being out of action since September due to broken foot.
Manager Joachim Low has also extended his contract until 2022.
Manchester City duo Ilkay Gundogan and Leroy Sane are among the Premier League star to be selected, while Liverpool’s Emre Can misses out. They will join Chelsea stars Antonio Rudiger and Arsenal maestro Mesut Ozil.
