Lionel Messi on Thursday returned to training with Barcelona with less than a week to go before their Champions League quarter final tie against AS Roma.

The forward had missed Argentina’s both the international matches over the last week due to a hamstring injury. Although the five-time Ballon d’Or winner did train in between with his International team.

The 30-year-old joined fellow Barcelona players who have also just returned from their international duty.

"Messi took part in a part of training with the squad," said Barca on their Twitter account.

Messi might be rested against Sevilla on Saturday to give him time to recover ahead of the UCL quarter final first leg against Roma, given Barca’s unassailable 11-point lead over Atletico Madrid at the top of the La Liga.
