Football star team Real Madrid on Monday announced the return of former manager Zinedine Zidane on Monday evening after Santiago Solari failed to take the team past Round of 16 of UEFA Champions League which has been nothing short of humiliating for a team which has done so well over the years in La Liga.

The former Real Madrid coach's sack was expected after Real Madrid suffered a humiliating 5-3 loss at the hands of AFC in the elite European competition. With Cristiano Ronaldo is gone, Los Blancos have already highlighted their ambitious transfer plans, featuring both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Speaking at the press conference where Zidane's return was officially confirmed, Florentino insisted that since the manager is French, roping in Mbappe remains a likely possibility. "Zidane is French so he could do something with Mbappe," he said, laughing.

Another player who has been heavily linked with a move to the Spanish capital is fellow Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar. The Brazilian left Real Madrid's arch-rivals Barcelona not long ago in a World Record EUR 222 million move but a return to La Liga has been under discussion for the major part of this season. When asked about which player he would prefer from Neymar and Mbappe at Real Madrid, Perez answered 'Both'.

The Brazilian himself had admitted that although he is happy in France, a switch to Real Madrid remains an 'attractive' option. After nearly 10 months out of the job, Zidane has returned to Madrid with hopes of taking the club back to the same level which saw him bag three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles in the past three seasons, before leaving the club in the summer of 2018."Zidane is an 18-year love story," the Real Madrid president said.

"It's a very big day. Everyone feels enchanted. There will only be changes that have to be made. Zidane is a man who produces enthusiasm, not only to Spain but to the rest of the world. But now we have to prepare for the next game and finish the season well."

With Zidane back at the wheel, it remains to be seen how Real Madrid fare in the final stages of the La Liga season.
