Arsenal outplayed and defeated Manchester United 2-0 as both teams clashed at the Emirates stadium on Sunday. Two goals in three minutes gave Arsenal the victory over Manchester United and finally delivered Arsene Wenger his first competitive win over Jose Mourinho.
The under-fire Frenchman had failed to beat Mourinho in the pair's previous 12 league meetings but he got his first three points against the former Chelsea boss just when he needed it.
With this victory, Arsenal also ended United’s 25-match unbeaten run and can rekindle hopes of finishing in the top four and qualify for the Champions League.
Granit Xhaka and former Red Danny Welbeck did the damage with a goal apiece within two minutes of each other.Manchester United’s skipper Wayne Rooney had the majority of his team’s chances but was unable to carve out an opening against Arsene Wenger's men.
