After inconsistent performance so far, Sporting Clube de Goa are seeking to raise their game and win their first match when they lock horns with I-League champions, Bengaluru FC at Nehru Stadium Fatorda tomorrow.

Sporting started their I-League campaign well playing out a draw against East Bengal but there after they failed to put up collective performance which saw them loose three matches and two draw to place themselves at the bottom of the table with three points from six matches.

Lot was expected from their foreign duo Boima Karpeh and Anthony Wolfe but they have been found wanting in front of the goals and are yet to score which has placed them at the bottom of the table.

But with Victorino Fernandes back in the side victory chances are still alive. After nursing a injury, Fernandes saved his team from defeat in their last match against Pune FC when he scored in the dying minutes to pull up draw and earn them a point.

With their new signing, Brandon Fernandes and Miguel Garcia, still not fit to play their first match, coach Mathew Costa will once keep faith in Kalu to steer the attack.  Sporting coach Mathew Costa said tomorrow we are facing tough opponent but we are well prepared to face them.

“Our boys have played well but somehow goals are hard to come. But with Victorino back in the side I am hopeful things will change for the good and hopefully our strikers score tomorrow and win our first match at home,” said Costa.

On the other hand, Bengaluru FC are fresh after their historic win against Maldivies side Maziya Sports and Recreation Club in their first appearance of the AFC Cup after they suffered a crushing defeat in their last match of the I-League at the hands of Mohun Bagan.
