Manchester United have ‘prioritize’ Juventus left back Alex Sandro to replace Luke Shaw in the summer transfer window.

Manager Jose Mourinho has already chalked out his summer plans as he looks to revamp and strengthen the current squad in an effort to compete with rivals Manchester City next season.

The Portuguese has made a list of numerous targets to replace Shaw, who is set to leave United after constant criticism from Mourinho over the last couple of years.

The England international was enjoying a resurgence but his form went south since the turn of the year and Mourinho seems unimpressed by his progress.

The other targets to replace the former Southampton player are Tottenham’s Danny Rose and Celtic’s Kieran Tierney, but according to reports, Mourinho has made Sandro his number one priority.

The Brazilian defender’s contract with his current club Juventus expires in 2020. He was also a target of Manchester City and Chelsea, with the latter still interested in his services.

Ashley Young has been in superb form since taking the left back position at United but Mourinho wants a proper back four before the new season.

Juventus are interested in United’s Matteo Darmian and that could pave the way for a possible player-plus-cash deal for Alex Sandro this summer.

The Italian has made only 15 appearances this season and looks to leave along with his colleagues Daley Blind and Luke Shaw.
