UEFA Champions League 2018-19: When and where to watch Group Stage draw; All you need to know

New Delhi:

The group stage draw for the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League ceremony is set to begin at 12 pm ET (09:30pm IST) on Thursday (August 30). The ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. The 32-team draw has been divided into four pots from which eight groups of four team each will be derived.

The first round of group matches is scheduled to take place on September 18 and 19 with top two from each group qualifying for the knockouts. The draw will be officially be streamed live on UEFA's official website.

The final will be played at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid on June 1.

Earlier in the 2017/18 Champions League final, Spanish giants Real Madrid defeated Liverpool 3-1 in Kiev to lift their third consecutive UCL.

The first pot consists of defending UEFA Champions League winner, defending Europa League winner and six winners of top six leagues in UEFA’s coefficient ranking.

The top eight teams are Real Madrid (UCL), Atletico Madrid (UEL), Barcelona (La Liga), Manchester City (Premier League), Bayern Munich (Bundesliga), Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1), Juventus (Serie A) and Lokomotiv Moscow (Russian Premier League).

No teams from the same league can be drawn together, like Manchester City cannot be drawn alongside Liverpool or Manchester United.
