Gaganjeet Bhullar added a two-under 70 to move to tied 22nd alongside Chiragh Kumar, who had an off day with a card of 73 in the Yeangder Tournament Players Championship (TPC) here today.
Bhullar (72-70-70) and Chiragh (70-69-73) are nine shots behind the leader Scott Barr whose 68 took him to 13-under and four clear of the field.
Among other Indians, Himmat Rai (70-71-72) and Shubhankar Sharma (70-73-70) are tied 31st, while S Chikkarangappa (71-70-73) is tied 38th and Rahil Gangjee (73-68-74) is tied 48th. Khalin Joshi missed the cut yesterday.
Thailand’s Jazz Janewattananond surged into second place following a 67 while Malaysia’s Nicholas Fung also remained on course for his maiden breakthrough after returning with a 68 that saw him share third place with Thailand’s Pariya Junhasavasdikul, Australia’s Sam Brazel and Hung Chien-yao of Chinese Taipei.
Barr, who held a share of the overnight lead, continued to put himself in front after opening strongly with four birdies in his front-nine at the Linkou International Golf and Country Club.
The 20-year-old Jazz also signalled his intention of winning his maiden Asian Tour title when he stormed out of the blocks with an outward 32.
