Indian junior hockey team achieved an exciting World Cup win on Sunday. It is surprising to know that ten players of the World Cup winning team hail from the same Surjit Hockey Academy in Jalandhar.

Indian junior hockey team achieved an exciting World Cup win on Sunday. It is surprising to know that ten players of the World Cup winning team hail from the same Surjit Hockey Academy in Jalandhar.

The players who were trained at Surjit Hockey Academy include Harjeet Singh, Mandeep Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, Varun Kumar, Krishna Pathak, Gurinder Singh, Vikramjit Singh, Parvinder Singh and Gurjant Singh.

Out of the players from Surjit Hockey Academy, Mandeep Singh and Varun Kumar belong to Jalandhar whereas others are from Amritsar, Gurdaspur and other districts in Punjab.
