With a positively aggressive performance in the Junior World Cup finals, Indian hockey team on Sunday yet again made history by winning the tournament for the second time in 15 years.

The Indian junior hockey team exuded confidence after defeating the Australian squad 4-2. Exhibiting their best at the finals against Belgium, the Indian hockey team won by 2-1 at Dhyan Chand Stadium in Lucknow.

The Indian juniors made the country proud by lifting the coveted trophy on home soil and also become the first host nation to lift the trophy.

"Our junior hockey team displayed superb attacking play, attractive trapping, wrist work and scored two field goals," she said in her message.

"There was splendid coordination among the players and impregnable defence. As a result, India defeated Belgium by 2-1 to claim the World Cup,"

#Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal:

The Chief Minister in his message said that it was amatter of great honour and pride for all Punjabis that five players in Indian squad including Captain Harjeet Singh hailed from the state.
