Rajasthan Royals captain Ajinkya Rahane has been fined Rs 12 lakh for maintaining a slow over-rate during the IPL match between against Chennai Super Kings here. "As it was his team's first offence of the season under the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Mr. Rahane was fined Rs 12 lakh," read an official IPL statement.Rajasthan Royals suffered their third straight defeat on Sunday night when they lost to Super Kings by eight runs. The struggling outfit next host Royal Challengers Bangalore in Jaipur on Tuesday. Rahane, who plays for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy, was not the first to be fined for a slow over-rate offence. Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma was fined Rs 12 lakh after his team maintained a slow over-rate during their IPL match against Kings XI Punjab. 

"As it was his team's first offence of the season under the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Sharma was fined Rs 12 lakh," the IPL said in a media release. 

KXIP won the match by eight wickets. Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has been fined Rs 12 lakh for maintaining slow over-rate during their Indian Premier League (IPL) against Chennai Super Kings here on Wednesday night. 

The hosts had put on board a challenging 205 for eight but riding on MS Dhoni’s power-packed 34-ball 70, Super Kings overhauled the formidable target with two balls to spare.

“As it was his team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Mr. Kohli was fined Rs 12 lakh,” an IPL press release said.
