The cash-rich Indian Premier League is back. Defending champions Mumbai Indians will lock their horns with debutant Rising Pune Supergiants in the opening match of the T20 extravaganza at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday. Mumbai will look to start their campaign with a winning note as they have lifted the trophy twice in 2013 and 2015.

They have some talented players like Jasprit Bumrah, Kieron Pollard, Corey Anderson, Mitchell McClenaghan, Unmukt Chand, Ambati Rayudu, Hardik Pandya and many more. They will miss the services of key pacer Lasith Malinga due to injury.

On the other hand, Indian skipper MS Dhoni will lead the new franchise Rising Pune Supergiants.

They have match winning players like Ravichandran Ashwin, batsman Faf du Plessis and pacer Ishwar Pandey. England’s Kevin Pietersen, India’s Ajinkya Rahane and Australia skipper Steven Smith can add to their batting power.

Ishant Sharma will spearhead the pace department, with Irfan Pathan and Mitchell Marsh, RP Singh, Scott Boland, Ashok Dinda, Jaskaran Singh, Ankit Sharma and Deepak Chahar.
