Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings is all set to make a comeback in the Indian Premier League and the team is looking well-determined to lift the trophy again.

CSK was out of IPL for two years following the spot fixing scandal along with Rajasthan Royals for the 9th and 10th season.

The selectors of the franchise retained MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja for the 11th season.

Under the leadership of Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings became champions twice in the year 2010 and 2011. The team even lifted Champions Trophy title twice in 2010 and 2014.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni took the responsibility to lead CSK in the first edition of IPL and has scored 3561 runs in 159 matches played in the 10 seasons. He also lead Rising Pune Supergiants in the two season during CSK’s suspension.

Apart from Dhoni, Jadeja and Raina, CSK has a powerful squad with a combination of experienced and new players.

In the auction of 2018, team selectors and owners picked some of the former players including Harbhajan Singh, Shane Watson, Dwayne Bravo, Murali Vijay, Imran Tahir, Ambati Rayadu and Faf du Plessis.

The support staff of CSK is similar to the earlier seasons with Stephen Fleming as their head coach, Laxmipathy Balaji as bowling coach, Michael Hussey as batting coach along with trainer Gregory King and physio Tommy Simsek.

It will be interesting to see whether the former two-time champions, which has 100 per cent record of making it to the playoffs in every season, can reclaim their dominance in IPL.
