New Delhi:

Chris Gayle became the fastest to 4000 runs in the Indian Premier Legaue and he continued to bat brilliantly as he notched up yet another fifty in the Indian Premier League. Gayle was well assisted by Mayank Agarwal and looked good to reach a century but it took a good catch from Rahul Tripathi to fall for 79. Sarfaraz Khan showed his mettle and ended the innings in style by blasting 46 off 29 balls as they reached 184/4 after 20 overs. In response, Jos Buttler smashed a brilliant fifty and kept Rajasthan Royals in the hunt. However, a controversial incident involving Ravichandran Ashwin mankading Jos Buttler turned the course of the game. Steve Smith and Sanju Samson struck some big blows but Rajasthan Royals collapsed by losing seven wickets as Kings XI Punjab won by 14 runs to register their first win at the Sawai Mansingh stadium for the first time in six attempts. (SCORECARD)

Game over! Kings XI Punjab beat Rajasthan Royals by 14 runs and it is their first win in Jaipur in their sixth attempt. What a collapse for Rajasthan Royals, losing seven wickets in four overs.

Ankit Rajpoot is on a hat-trick. He bowls a low, dipping full toss and Gowtham chips it to mid-off where Shami juggles but takes the catch.

Briliant yorker from Shami and Jofra Archer is run-out for 2. This has been a sensational comeback by Kings XI Punjab. Can Krishnappa Gowtham create a miracle for Rajasthan Royals?

After Sam Curran takes two wickets, Mujeeb takes two. He removes Stoke after being hit for a six and then removes Rahul Tripathi for 1. This is a big collapse for Rajasthan Royals as they lose four wickets in two overs. The Jos Buttler dismissal is proving to be the ultimate turning point.

Brilliant catch from KL Rahul as Steve Smith slices a lofted shot to wide long off, Rahul runs close to 70 meters and dives to his left to take a superb catch. In the same over, Sanju Samson miscues a lofted shot and holes out to Ashwin running back from cover. In Mujeeb's 18th over, Stokes hits a six but holes out to long on to Karun Nair.

Kings XI Punjab opt for a review against Steve Smith as Sam Curran tries to fire a full ball on leg stump. Smith had walked across but the ball was pitching outside the line of leg stump.

Steve Smith whips a six and carves a boundary off Sam Curran and the England youngster has figures of 3-0-48-0. Sanju Samson hits an inside out six off Mohammed Shami as Rajasthan Royals need 39 off 24 balls. Thriller on the cards.

Ankit Rajpoot bowls two no-balls but escapes both times as Steve Smith fails to capitalise on the free-hit. That has increased the pressure but the big talking point will be the Jos Buttler run-out, which is the second instance of mankading in the history of Twenty20 history.

According to the conversation, Ashwin kept yelling that 'you are not in the crease and you've been upsetting my rhythm'. The more the replays the more Buttler seem less guilty, he was just casually ambling forward

The major talking point is: Did Ashwin give him a prior warning before running him out? If no, then he might be wrong. But if he did and Buttler still persisted, then he is mankaded.

Mankaded! Oh dear, this will be a major talking point and Jos Buttler is absolutely livid. He is having an animated discussion with Ashwin and once he is given out for 69, he is fuming. In my honest opinion, Ashwin did the right thing.

Ashwin and Mujeeb are slowly building the pressure but no alarm bells for Rajasthan Royals. The current run-rate is 8.79. One more good over can turn the game back for the hosts.

A superb over from Ashwin, including one carrom ball which comes on like an inswinger. Just three runs in the over.

After a decent over from Ashwin, Buttler underlines his supremacy by creaming Ankit Rajpoot for two consecutive boundaries. After 10 overs, Rajasthan Royals are 96/1 and are in a good position to chase the total down.

Buttler launches Ankit Rajpoot to the long off fence and he brings up his fifty off just 29 balls. However, Ashwin gets the big wicket as he cleans up Rahane with a quicker carrom ball that skids through and the skipper gives himself too much room to run it down to third man and the off stump is detonated out of the ground.

Seven runs in the over from Ravichandran Ashwin. Ankit Rajpoot is into the attack. Kings XI Punjab need a wicket quickly. Rajasthan Royals are up with the run-rate.

Three fours and a six from Jos Buttler. This is carnage and Sam Curran has figures of 2-0-31-0. This is not the start for Kings XI Punjab but Jos Buttler is showing his class.

Rahane finds the boundary and Rajasthan Royals are scoring at a rate of nine runs per over. Shami bounces back after an expensive first over.

Jos Buttler, you beauty. Clubs a short ball straight down the ground to long off where the fielder misfields but the last ball from Mujeeb is mauled over long off for a six. The start continues to get better for Rajasthan Royals.

Jos Buttler slams two boundaries off Mohammed Shami, including one scoop to the fine leg fence. This is a great start by Rajasthan Royals in this chase.

Jos Buttler gets going with a boundary off Mujeeb Ur Rahman but the bowler recovers well, conceding just six runs in the over.

Terrible debut for Sam Curran in the IPL as Ajinkya Rahane slams three boundaries in the first over, two straight down the ground and one inside out to wide long off. Rajasthan Royals are 12/0 in the first over.

Rajasthan Royals' effort will be determined by how well Buttler and Stokes bat along with Ajinkya Rahane and of course Krishnappa Gowtham, who was the finisher for Rajasthan Royals in the 2018 season.

Rajasthan Royals had won five out of five games against Kings XI Punjab in Jaipur. Will that record remain intact?

Sarfaraz Khan ends the innings in style by hammering Ben Stokes over deep midwicket for a six and Kings XI Punjab have ended their innings at 184/4 in 20 overs. This is a wonderful score and it will need something special from Rajasthan Royals' bowlers to chase this total down.

Ben Stokes takes his second wicket as Nicholas Pooran falls. Short off-cutter from Stokes and it breaks away wide outside off, Pooran reaches out for it and flat bats it to long off but he finds the fielder.

Jofra Archer has been simply sublime, ending with figures of 4-0-17-0. However, Unadkat has been woeful, conceding 44 runs in three overs at an economy rate of close to 15.

Jofra Archer bowls a brilliant over but Unadkat continues to leak runs as Nicholas Pooran reaches out and slices a wide ball to the deep extra cover fence. It has not been a good day for IPL's most expensive buy. The odd thing is - The other expensive player Varun Chakravarthy is not playing this match.

Sarfaraz Khan survives a run-out chance but Gopal bowls a superb over. Can Rajasthan Royals restrict Kings XI Punjab to under 170-175?

Nicholas Pooran is the new batsman and Shreyas Gopal, the legspinner comes into the attack in the 17th over. He was held back because Gayle was on strike.

WHAT A CATCH! Gayle cannot believe it. Stokes bangs it short and Gayle powers the pull shot to deep midwicket but Rahul Tripathi at deep midwicket times his jump to perfection and he takes a stunning catch near the boundary. Ends a fabulous knock from the Universe Boss.

Sarfraz tries to the upright scoop off Dhawal Kulkarni but he cannot pull it off. 10 runs in hte over and Kings XI Punjab are 125/2 in 15 overs. Gayle is looking good for a century. Rajasthan Royals need wickets quickly.

Sarfraz tries to the upright scoop off Dhawal Kulkarni but he cannot pull it off. 10 runs in hte over and Kings XI Punjab are 125/2 in 15 overs. Gayle is looking good for a century. Rajasthan Royals need wickets quickly.

Two fours by Sarfraz and Gayle punishes Rajasthan Royals even further by launching Jofra Archer straight down the ground for yet another six. He is looking good to break the century drought at the Sawai Mansingh stadium.

4,4,4,6 and Chris Gayle gets to yet another fifty in the IPL. Is there anything that this guy cannot do in this format? Truly spectacular stuff from the Universe boss.

In the air and just wide of Sanju Samson. Short ball from Stokes and Gayle mauls a pull shot to deep midwicket, Samson covers good ground and puts in the dive but cannot get there. It would have been a screamer.

Dhawal Kulkarni bowled five good balls but he has undone the pressure by bowling a short ball, Sarfraz latches onto it and cuts it to the third man fence. After 10 overs, Kings XI Punjab are 68/2.

Rajasthan Royals get the big wicket and break the partnerships. Flighted ball from Gowtham outside off, Agarwal attempts the lofted shot but mistimes it totally, Kulkarni at the boundary takes the catch just inside the ropes. His left foot is just inches away from the boundary and the third umpire has a look but he is safe. Gayle is key now for Punjab

Kings XI Punjab finally breaks the shackles. Gayle edges a shortish ball from Jaydev Unadkat to the third man fence while Agarwal launches a full ball inside-out over widish long off for a big six. Gayle gets going by clobbering another six over wide long on off Gowtham.

Another superb over from Krishnappa Gowtham. Kings XI Punjab have just hit three boundaries and one six so far. They need to get a move on here.

Great over from Jofra Archer. Pace and right lengths as just one run comes off it. Superb bowling from Archer.

Mayank Agarwal greets Ben Stokes with a boundary and scores at a good rate. Gayle looks to slog a full ball but gets an inside edge to the leg side. Very ungainly shot from Gayle and Kings XI Punjab are 31/1 after five overs.

Gayle is now the fastest to 4000 runs in IPL, breaking the previous record held by David Warner. Recently, in the first game of IPL 2019, Suresh Raina became first to 5000 runs. Read about his achievement here.

Chris Gayle creams a boundary to deep point past the gap and then hares across for a quick single to become the fastest to 4000 runs in IPL, breaking David Warner's record. What a feat from the Universe Boss! Take a bow, Gayle

Eight runs in the second over. Nice comeback by Gowtham. Agarwal and Gayle will be looking to hang in and get Kings XI Punjab off to a great start

Krishnappa Gowtham is into the attack and he is greeted by Mayank Agarwal who lofts him effortlesly over long off for the first six of the match. Can he bounce back and get the wicket of Gayle?

Brilliant from Kulkarni. After getting hit for a boundary, the bowler responds in style. Full ball and swinging away late outside off, Rahul is unsure of how to play at it and hangs his bat out tentatively, the ball takes the outside edge and Jos Buttler takes a good catch diving low to his right.

Rajasthan Royals will be hoping to contain the Gayle storm here in Jaipur. Dhawal Kulkarni and Jofra Archer have had success against the West Indies dasher.

David Warner's 85 earned him redemption in Eden. Can Smith get it in the Pink City? Right now, all eyes will be on Chris Gayle and how he is on the cusp of breaking another record in Twenty20s and the IPL.

Here is the Rajasthan Royals playing XI

Rajasthan Royals: Ajinkya Rahane(c), Jos Buttler(w), Steven Smith, Ben Stokes, Sanju Samson, Krishnappa Gowtham, Rahul Tripathi, Shreyas Gopal, Jofra Archer, Jaydev Unadkat, Dhawal Kulkarni

So here are the playing XI of Kings XI Punjab which includes some a fresh face.

Kings XI Punjab: Chris Gayle, Lokesh Rahul(w), Mayank Agarwal, Sarfaraz Khan, Nicholas Pooran, Mandeep Singh, Sam Curran, Ravichandran Ashwin(c), Mohammed Shami, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Ankit Rajpoot

So Steve Smith is back for Rajasthan Royals. Can he have a similar impact like how David Warner had for Sunrisers Hyderabad? Interestingly for Kings XI Punjab, Sam Curran has been handed a debut. His rapid rise continues.

Rajasthan Royals opt to bowl against Kings XI Punjab. There was some uncertainty when he made the decision. Remember, Kings XI Punjab have lost five out of five games against Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh stadium.

The another exciting prospect in the match will be Jofra Archer. His pace and variations in the death will be vital for Rajasthan Royals. Do not forget, he might be eligible to play for England in the World Cup.

The battle between Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals will be a battle of the England players. Will Sam Curran make his IPL debut today? Wil Jos Buttler, who played a big role in Rajasthan Royals' qualification in 2018, continue his good run? There is also Ben Stokes in the mixture.

For Kings XI Punjab, all will hinge on KL Rahul and Chris Gayle as well as Mayank Agarwal. The bowling will depend on Ravichandran Ashwin while they will be hoping that Andrew Tye gets going at the death.

A warm welcome to the match between Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab from the Sawai Mansingh in Jaipur. This is the fortress for the Royals and they will be determined to get their campaign off to a great start. On the other hand, Kings XI Punjab will rely on the Universe Boss, Chris Gayle to get going and set the stage on fire.
