Kabaddi World Cup 2016: India take on Thailand, Iran play South Korea in semis

The group stages of the 2016 World Cup Kabaddi are over and the four top teams are ready to raid in the semifinals of the premier tournament which shall be played out on Friday evening at the TransStadia, Ahmedabad.

It has turned out to be an all Asian affair with all four semifinal spots sealed by Asian powerhouses. The time has come to separate the men from the boys with traditional giants India, Iran, South Korea and Thailand locking horns against each other for a place in the Grand Finale.

Defending champions Indian goes into the semis as a strong title contender and would take on Thailand in the second semifinals scheduled on Friday evening. The first semifinal shall be played out between West Asian Powerhouse Iran and the speedy South Koreans.

The Indian Kabbadi team sealed a place in the semifinal of the World Cup after their superlative performance in the group stages. The Indian team secured the second spot behind East Asian powerhouse South Korea in Group A courtesy their impressive showing in the group encounters.
