A spectacular match unfolded between Iran and Kenya on Tuesday in the 2016 Kabaddi world cup as Iran won by a narrow margin of 33-28.
Iran has now won three matches in the tournament and is being considered as one of the favourites for the coveted trophy.
The close match saw Iran gaining a lead of 19-10 in the first half. However, the Kenyan players fought back tremendously and earned 14 points in the second half.This is Kenya’s first loss in two matches.
Iran held on the top spot in Group B with 15 points in three games played thus far and remain on course to seal a semi-final berth. Iranian player Abolfazal scored four points in the match and played a leading role in the win.
Although Iran were the overwhelming favourites to win the match, the closely contested affair has enhanced reputation of the Kenyan team.
