Kabaddi World Cup 2016: Korea upset India in the opening fixture by 34-31

South Korea have stunned World Champions India by 34-31 in the opening contest of the Kabaddi World Cup 2016.

Two of the most talked about teams took the mat in the opening fixture of Kabaddi World Cup in Ahmedabad. The first half belonged to Anup Kumar and he got able support from Rahul Chaudhri as India lead by five points.

In the last five minutes of second half, Korea added four points while India managed just one. Then India managed to make a comeback with the six-point lead as Ajay Thakur converted the crucial raid. The hosts lead South Korea 27-21.

Indian captain Anup Kumar said: "Our raiders weren't at their best today, we also made some mistakes at the end and that's why we lost. But nothing's lost yet. We will get back and correct our mistakes." 

Extraordinary effort were put in by Korea as they managed to clinch a thrilling win over favourites India.
