Kolkata, West Bengal: Lionel Messi’s much-hyped Kolkata stop on the G.O.A.T. Tour on Saturday left thousands of fans disappointed at the Yuva Bharati Krirangan. Many had come hoping to catch a glimpse of the Argentine superstar, but that never really happened. Angry fans threw bottles and chairs from the stands at Kolkata's Salt Lake Stadium as Lionel Messi left early.

Fans who paid hefty amounts, with ticket prices ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 45,000, said they could barely see Messi at all. Although the 2022 World Cup winner arrived at the stadium around 11:15 a.m., he left early. 

Messi was expected to take a full lap of the stadium, but that did not happen, adding to the frustration of fans who had waited eagerly for the event.

One fan, while speaking to ANI, said,"Only leaders and actors were surrounding Messi...Why did they call us then... We have got a ticket for 12 thousand, but we were not even able to see his face..."
