A former world number 1, Deepika Kumari currently is India’s highest ranked recurve archer- among women and men. In April 2016, Deepika shot a world record-equalling total in the women’s recurve event of the Archery World Cup in Shanghai to book berth in Rio.
In 2012 London Games, she competed in the Women's Individual and Women's team events, finishing in eighth place in the latter. In 2016 Rio Games, she is ranked 5th and look to enter the record books for India.
