# Vikas ousted, boxers sign off without medal at Olympics
Former Asian Games gold medallist Vikas Krishan (75kg) took a pounding from second seed Bektemir Melikuziev in the quarterfinals to bow out of the Olympic Games here, ending India's boxing challenge without a medal for the first time in eight years.
With Shiva Thapa (56kg) and Manoj Kumar (64kg) already out of contention, Vikas' loss on Tuesday drew the curtains on The Indian boxing challenge in the Games.

# PV Sindhu reaches quarter-finals
Indian shuttler PV Sindhu reached quarter-finals of Rio Olympics 2016 after she defeated Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu Ying 21-13, 21-15. She will now face World No. 2 and reigning Olympics silver medalist Wang Yihan in quarter-finals.

# Srikanth reaches quarter-finals
India's Kidambi Srikanth advanced to the quarterfinals of the men's singles badminton event after eking out a hard-fought win over World No. 5 Jan Jorgensen of Denmark at the Rio Olympics.
Coming into the match with a 1-2 head-to-head record, Srikanth dished out an aggressive performance to defeat Jorgensen 21-19 21-19 in a 42-minute battle to keep himself in contention.

# Sarbani Nanda, Renjith Maheshwary disappoint in athletics
Indian athletes - Srabani Nanda, in women's 200m, and triple jumper Renjith Maheshwary - made tame exits in the first round.
# Ravinder Khatri crashes out of the Greco-Roman 85kg category
Khatri failed to clear even one round in his category, going down tamely against Viktor Lorincz of Hungary and bowed out of the competition.
The 24-year-old grappler was thrashed 9-0 on Great Superiority by the Hungarian. Great Superiority indicates a difference of eight technical points in Greco-Roman with the loser without logging any points.

# Lalita finishes 10th, disappointment in athletics continue
Babar clocked 9:22.74 in the finals on Monday, nearly three seconds outside her national record effort of 9:19.76 in the qualification on Saturday.
Despite her 10th finish, Babar's effort was still the best performance by an Indian in a track event after after PT Usha's fourth-place finish in the 400m hurdles in 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
