OP Jaisha demands inquiry on AFI statement saying she refused to avail drinks during marathon. She gave an interview to ANI and blamed AFI representatives of being absent from the stalls and further questioned them that how can, they know the truth when they were not even present there. She said there are cameras everywhere now, they should check the cameras & they will get the answer.
“Why would I say such a huge lie, when I have never complained even once in my entire sports career? I can’t fight against the Government or AFI & win maybe, but God & & I know the truth, and I owe that to sports”

“I am sure that had something grave happened to me, AFI would have still said that OP Jaisha didn’t avail refreshment”
Sports Minister Vijay Goel said he would look into the issue, and that the Indian Olympic Association was responsible for providing facilities for athletes at the Games.
Earlier The Athletics Federation of India had refuted runner OP Jaisha’s allegations that no country officials provided her with water or refreshments during her marathon run at the Rio Olympics. The AFI had said arrangements were made for her 42-km marathon, but that she and her coach had declined the offer of personalised drinks for the athlete.
