The Mysore-born Vikas Gowda currently holds the national record by virtue of his massive throw of 66.28 meters at Norman, USA, in 2012. His biggest claim to fame, came at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games where he became the second Indian to win gold in athletics, 56 years after Milka Singh won the 440 yards in Cardiff Games.
Rio Games will be his fourth Olympics and might be last. At the age of 32, Gowda will try to become the first Indian to win medal in athletics at Rio.
