India's leading shuttler Kidambi Srikanth overcame a tough challenge from World No 1 Son Wan Ho to advance to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open Super Series on Thursday.
Kidambi Srikanth displayed some subtle variations with is wristy strokeplay to keep his opponent off guard. The win was Srikanth's second win over the South Korean in the last five days.Srikanth had beaten Son Wan Ho in the Indonesian Open en route to winning the title.
Meanwhile, B Sai Praneeth edged past China's Huang Yuxiang in three games to join compatriot Srikanth in the quarter-final of the Australia Open. Praneeth produced a defensively solid game and was spectacular with his net shots to turn the table on his Chinese counterpart.
