Rio Olympic silver medallist PV Sindhu overpowered China's Chen in straight games to secure a spot in the quarter-finals of the women's singles on Thursday.
Sindhu produced a dominating performance in the first game but was given a tough challenge in the second. It was curtains for Satwiksairaj Rankireddy - Chirag Shetty pair and Ashwini Ponnappa and Sikki as they were beaten in their respective games.
Meanwhile, Kidambi Srikanth and B Sai Praneeth also marched into the last eight of the tournament winning their respective games. Saina Nehwal shall lock horns against unseeded Soniia Cheah of Malaysia for a berth in quarterfinals later on Thursday.
