Chinese ace shuttler Chen Long defeated fellow countryman Lin Dan in an epic three-game grand finale to lift the men's singles title at the Badminton Asia Championships played at Wuhan, China.

Long was made to sweat hard by his senior Dan and sealed the title. Lin Dan prevailed over Long in the opener by clinching a close fought game 23-21. However, Chen Long raised the level of his game and won the next two games by a comfortable margin to seal the match.

In the women’s doubles final, Japan’s Misaki Matsutomo and Ayaka Takahashi defeated Hye Rin Kim and Yoo Hae Won of South Korea 21-19, 16-21, 21-10. In the mixed doubles final, Lu Kai and Huang Yaqiong defeated Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Sapsiree Taerattanachai 21-18, 21-11.
