Indian ace shuttler PV Sindhu advanced to the second round at the Badminton Asia Championships with a straight-game victory over Indonesia's Dinar Dyah Ayustine.
Sindhu, who clinched bronze in the 2014 Gimcheon edition, overpowered her unseeded opponent 21-8, 21-18 in the first round match at the Wuhan Sports Center Gymnasium in Wuhan on Wednesday.
The fourth seeded Sindhu has been in spectacular form this season after winning the silver medal at Rio Olympics last year. She won the Syed Modi Grand Prix Gold tournament in January this year before lifting the India Super Series title early this month.
Sindhu then reached the quarter-finals at the Singapore Open, where she lost to Olympic champion Carolina Marin.
