India’s leading badminton player Saina Nehwal has dropped four places to be number nine in the latest world rankings while P V Sindhu remains number 10 despite winning a silver medal in the Rio Olympics.

Kidambi Srikanth, who lost to Lin Dan in the Olympic quarterfinals, gained a place in the rankings released today to be number 10.

Sindhu won India’s only silver medal in Rio after beating three higher-ranked players—Wang Yihan (world no.4), Nozomi Okuhara (3) and Tai Tzu Ying (7).
