Trinity Gay, daughter of Olympian sprinter Tyson Gay has been shot dead in a shooting between mobsters at a Lexington restaurant.

15-year old Trinity got fatal injuries on her neck in an open gun firing happened at the parking lot of a restaurant near the University of Kentucky’s campus in Lexington.

A rising athletic star in school, Trinity was also an sprinter who took part in various race in school. She was really close to her father Tyson who is a national sprinter for his country and has brought glory after winning several medal at the world championships.

Lexington police has said that they got the information about the exchange of gunfire between the members of two cars at the Cook Out restaurant on South Broadway. Later the culprits drove away. Investigation is on and three alleged people have been taken under custody.

 Officials revealed that Trinity was rushed to UK hospital near the University of Kentucky campus. Police denied presence of Trinity in either of car.

Trinity's school Lafayette High School also released a statement condemning her tragic loss which said, "Our hearts are broken this morning over the loss of Trinity to this tragic and senseless act of violence. Please join us in keeping the Gay family close in thought and prayer and supporting the students, staff, and families at Lafayette High during this unspeakably difficult time."

Significantly Tyson Gay is a native of Lexington, Kentucky and presently resides in Clermont, Florida.
