A sports complex spread over 18.20 acres will be set up in Outer Delhi’s Najafgarh area with Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia approving the project worth nearly Rs 122 crore.
The complex is being developed at Kair village in Najafgarh and have modern facilities for cricket, football, basketball, athletics, tennis and swimming, according to an official statement.
“The FIFA has already approved the completed football stadium in this upcoming complex as a certified venue for hosting international matches, during its inspection of the stadium last month. The complex will be spread over 18.20 acres and have world class facilities,” it said.
In the first phase, international-level facilities for athletics, tennis, basketball and swimming are scheduled to be completed within six months.
In the second phase, a sports academy and residential facilities will be set-up. “The target of completing the entire sports complex is within 18 months,” the statement added.
