Indian shuttlers had a good day in the office at the Denmark Open as Saina Nehwal, HS Prannoy and Kidambi Srikanth booked their places in the last eight of the Super Series event on Thursday.
Saina overcame her opponent Nitchaon Jindapol 22-20, 21-13 while HS Prannoy upset Olympic silver medalist Lee Chong Wei 21-17, 11-21, 21-19 in their pre quarterfinal encounters.
Prannoy overcame a spirited challenge from the three-time Olympic silver medalist Lee Chong Wei to storm into the quarterfinals at Odense. It was Prannoy's second successive victory over Lee. He will taken on top seeded Son Wan Ho for a place in the semifinal.
Meanwhile, world number eight Srikanth, who defeated South Korea's Jeon Hyeok-jin 21-13, 8-21, 21-18, will lock horns with second seeded Viktor Axelson in the quarters. In women's singles, ace Indian shuttler Saina will face fourth seeded Akane Yamaguchi to book her place in the semi-finals.
