New Delhi:

Jamaica's star sprinter Usain Bolt kept his hopes of ending his glittering sprinting career on a high as he anchored his national team to the finals in the 4*100 m relay. The Jamaican team clocked a time of 37.95 seconds to qualify for the finals. France and China finished second and third in the heat respectively.

In the first heat of the men's 4x100 metres relay, United States finishes on top overcoming a tough challenge from the home team, Great Britain. Japan had a good run to finish third while Turkey will look to qualify as one of the fastest losers.

Usain Bolt had to settle for a bronze at the 100 metres behind arch rival Justin Gatlin and American Christain Coleman.
