India Open 2017: PV Sindhu takes on Carolina Marin, know final schedule

Olympic silver medallist P V Sindhu set up a mouth-watering summit clash with Olympic champion Carolina Marin after a hard-fought win over World No 4 Korean Sung Ji Hyun in the semi-finals of the India Super Series in New Delhi on Sunday.

It is now a repeat of the Rio Olympics 2016 final between Sindhu and Marin, who went on to clinch the gold at the quadrennial games.

Sindhu's needs to get past her bete noire Marin to clinch India Open but it won't be easy as the Spanish shuttler holds the prowess, skills and an indomitable spirit of a Champion.

The two shuttlers had last met in BWF Super Series where Sindhu managed to conquer past Carolina 21-17, 21-13 in 46 minutes to enter the last four stage.

Marin defeated Akani Yamaguchi of Japan in her semifinal match, but she didn’t have to break a sweat like Sindhu did, as the Spaniard won her match comfortably in straight sets 21-16 21-14.
