Reigning world champion Nozomi Okuhara made easy work off second seed Akane Yamaguchi in straight games to seal a place in Korea Open Super Series. The Japanese ace has been in spectacular form since the start of August and has displayed great consistency in reaching the finals of the major tournament. Nozomi had beaten Indian shuttler PV Sindhu to win the World Championships title at Glasgow.
Nozomi Okuhara clinched the opening game 21-17 with relative ease. The reigning world champion has a variety of strokes to unsettle her opponent and she does it quite comfortably in pressure situations. Nozomi Okuhara shall be taking on the winner of the second semifinal between PV Sindhu and He Bingjiao.
