Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Chaudhary continued their golden run in shooting as they won the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event in the ISSF World Cup Shooting event in Beijing, China on Thursday. Bhaker and Chaudhary defeated Jiang Ranxin and Pang Wei of China 16-6 and it is the second consecutive gold for the duo at this event, having clinched a gold in the same category in the New Delhi edition of the shooting World Cup in February 2019. This is India's second gold at the event after Anjum Moudgil and Divyansh Singh Panwar bagged a gold medal in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team by beating Liu Ruxuan and Yang Haoran 17-15.
Bhaker created history by winning gold in the 10m air pistol in the World Cup in Guadalajara, in the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast and the Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires. However, she cites the only marquee event where she did not win a medal as her most memorable. “Actually, my most memorable is the Asian Games. Although I did not win a medal, I actually scored the volume of points which I have never achieved even in practice during qualification,” Manu had said in an exclusive interview with News Nation in January.
