Pankaj Advani successfully defended his Asian Billiards Championships title by defeating his Indian counterpart B Bhaskar 6-1 in Yangon.
Advani remains the reigning Indian, Asian and World champion in billiard for 2017-18, with this win. This is Advani’s 11th gold at the Asian level.
The 32-year-old cue specialist, left the crowd in awe with some top-quality billiards as he scored a splendid 102, 83, 94, 96 and 99. Advani did not allow Bhaskar to put a single point in the fourth and fifth frame, turning both the frames into the turning point of the match.
Bhaskar gave his all to make a comeback but nothing worked in front of World-class Advani, who looked to demolish everything that came in front of him and his title.
He finished a 99-point break to finish the match and grab the championship once again. Bhaskar is yet to win an Asian title.
“This Asian crown is special as it comes just before the Padma Bhushan ceremony (April 2).
