Pradeep Narwal’s Patna Pirates on Saturday defeated Gujarat Fortunegiants 55-38 to win the season 5 of Pro Kabaddi League tournament.
Star raider and captain of Patna Pirates, Pradeep Narwal, with 350 raid points was awarded the 'Most Valuable Player of the tournament' for his wonderful performance in the season 5.
Pradeep Narwal was also the top scorer for Patna in the finals with 19 raid points followed by Monu Goyat's 9 raid points. Patna's inform defender Jaideep took a high-five in the final with alrounder Vijay contributing to the team's win with his 7 points.
It was an off day for Gujarat Fortunegiants as none of its four inform defenders --Â Â Fazel Atrachali, Sunil Kumar, Parvez Bhainswal, Abozar Mohajer Mighani -- could perform upto the mark.
It was only Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu star Sachin Tanwar who spearheaded Gujarat's raid efforts with 11 points. However, with defence not performing it was a hard run for Gujarat against Pradeep Narwal's Patna Pirates.
With their third title win, Patna Pirates has become the most successful team in the history of Pro Kabaddi League.Â
