Rahul Choudhari’s Telugu Titans defeated Ajay Thakur’s Tamil Thalaivas 32-27 in a star studded opening encounter of Pro Kabaddi League 2017 season 5 in Hyderabad on Friday.
Two of the biggest heroes of Indian kabaddi, Rahul Chaudhari and Ajay Thakur were up against each other in the match but Rahul’s Titans in the end over powered Thakur’s Thalaivas.
Dhananjan of Tamil Thalaivas scored the first point of the season five with a bonus point. However, initially both teams were fighting tooth and nails to over power each other but it was the "Raid Machine" Rahul Chaudhari who turned the entire course of the match. Rahul scored a super 10 in the very first match of the Vivo Pro-kabaddi League 2017.
The hero of India's last year's Kabaddi world cup "Thalaiva" Ajay Thakur could not perform up to the expectations and looked struggling against his counterpart Rahul. Thakur won just 3 points for his team.

After the glittering opening ceremony, the match started with the rendition of the National anthem by Bollywood star Akashya Kumar. Apart from Akshay, “God of cricket” Sachin Tendulkar, who is also a co-owner of Tamil Thalaivas was also present during the match. Sachin, while speaking at the opening ceremony said, “Indian sport is growing by the day and I am very happy that Kabaddi is taking giant strides.”
Bahubali actor Rana Daggubati was also present during the match.
