The Kolkata based kabaddi franchise, Bengal Warriors, powered by the future group has announced a partnership with Bollywood film star Akshay Kumar.
The National film award winning actor also "extremely popular for fitness regimen and his love for sports and with the new partnership Bengal Warriors hope to bring in a breath of fresh air and positivity packed with a stronger team," a media statement said.
Talking about the partnership with Bengal Warriors, Akshay Kumar said, “I have always believed that sport plays a key role in shaping ones personality and health. I have admired how Star Sports has helped make Kabaddi so popular across the length and breadth of India and I am delighted to partner with Future Group to promote a homegrown sport like Kabaddi.“

Team CEO Sandip Tarkas said there could not be a better partner than Akshay Kumar who apart from being a versatile actor was also known for his extreme fitness routines.
Bengal warrior, who was on losing side on last season, have revamped whole team retained only two players from the last year. The team are placed in zone B and they will play their first match of fifth season against Telugu Titans at Hyderabad on August 2.
