Rio Olympics silver medallist PV Sindhu on Friday defeated Saina Nehwal in a crucial match of Premier Badminton League at New Delhi’s Siri Fort stadium.

Sindhu registered the victory over Saina with a scoreline of 10-7 and 10-8 providing Chennai smashers with hope of reaching the finals of the league. 

Earlier on Tuesday, Rio Olympic Sindhu won her trump game after facing some anxious moments as Chennai Smashers drubbed Bengaluru Smashers 5-0 in a Premier Badminton League contest at the NSCI Stadium. 

The first time the Sindhu met Saina competition was back in August 2013, when the league was called the Indian Badminton League and Sindhu was beaten 21-14, 21-8 by experienced Saina.
