Over 18,000 runners are set to participate in the fourth edition of IDBI Federal Life Insurance New Delhi Marathon, to be held on 24th February, and will be flagged off by the Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar. In order to motivate the runners, IDBI Federal Life Insurance has invited their brand ambassador Sachin Tendulkar.
Sachin will flag off all the races from Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. It is known that marathon will be witnessing 20 percent more participants as compared to the ones who participated last year.
The AIMS certified marathon is organized by NEB Sports, and are expecting 2,000 runners in the full marathon, while over 6,000 runners will be participating in half-marathons.
The timed 10K and 5K Swachh Bharat Run will witness 5,500 and 4,500 participants respectively. Interestingly, over 600 personnel from defense services and the police services will be participating across the various set of race categories.
It is known, that among many runners participating this year, Suneeta Prasanna, the 73-year-old will be a part of half marathon. On the other hand, Himanshu Kumar a para-athlete will take part in a 5K marathon.

Meanwhile, the Indian team will be playing limited overs series against Australia. The first game is scheduled to start on 24th February 2019 at Vishakapatnam.
It is widely reported that the senior players may well be rested for this series, eyeing workload management. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selection committee will announce the squad on Friday and it remains to be seen if KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane get a final chance before World Cup.
Both KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane had a decent outing against England Lions and Vidarbha respectively. The duo scored half-centuries against the opposition and is looking positive before the series.
