A Kabbadi coach with the Sports Authority of India (SAI), accused of molesting a young girl at the training centre, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in a hotel room in Bengaluru, police said on Tuesday.

Rudrappa V Hosamani, a senior coach at SAI, was accused of molesting a girl in the girls dressing room at the training centre on October 9.
"Rudrappa V Hosamani, a senior coach at SAI in Bengaluru, committed suicide by hanging himself in the hotel room at Harihara on Monday. He was accused of molestation," Davanagere Superintendent of Police R Chetan told PTI.

Hosamani checked into the hotel on October 13. When he did not step out of the room for a long while, the hotel staff alerted the police who broke open the door and found him hanging.

SAI authorities were informed about the molestation incident after the victim confided in her parents about it. On informing the police about it, the 59-year-old coach was placed under suspension and a case was filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act against him based on the girl’s parents’ complaint.
