Shuttler Saina Nehwal defeated Indonesia's Dinar Dyah Ayustine 17-21, 21-18, 21-12 to enter quarter finals of the $120,000 Macau Open Grand Prix Gold badminton tournament on Thursday. After PV Sindhu's withdrawal, Saina is the highest-ranked Indian in the tournament.
This is first major quarter finals for Nehwal after she rcovered from a knee surgery which affected her Olympic campaign three months back
Earlier, in the tournament, Saina fought hard to defeat Indonesia's Hanna Ramadini in the first round. World No. 11 won 21-23, 21-14, 21-18 against world No. 44 Hanna. Saina, who was expected to win the tie easily, was given a reality check by the Indonesian. More Details Awaited
