TN Deputy CM, Kamal Haasan congratulate youngest grandmaster Praggnanandhaa

The Chennai lad became India's youngest and the world's second youngest Grand Master

Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister O Paneerselvam and Makkal Needhi Maiam founder and actor Kamal Haasan on Monday congratulated R Praggnanandhaa for becoming the world's second youngest chess Grand Master.

"I extend my congratulations to R Praggnanandhaa for becoming the world's youngest Grandmaster and making the country proud," O Panneerselvam said on his official Twitter handle while sharing an image of the young prodigy.

In a statement, Haasan shared his greetings and congratulations to the 12-year-old Chennai player and said 'it was no mean feat'. 

The Sadma actor spoke to Praggnandhaa's father Rameshbabu and praised him for backing the young boy's dream, the statement said.

The actor-politician was quoted as saying that he was ready to extend his complete support for the boy.

The Chennai lad became India's youngest and the world's second youngest Grand Master at the age of 12 years, 10 months and 13 days while

participating in the Grendine Open in Italy.
