World Boxing applauds 'Athlete First' approach, extends Ajay Singh-led BFI interim committee's term

New Delhi [India], July 7 (ANI): Acknowledging the tructured effort undertaken by the Interim Committee to retore tranparency and tability in the functioning of the Boxing Federation of India, World Boxing ha extended the term of the Committee, headed by Ajay Singh, until Augut 31, 2025.
World Boxing had appointed an Interim Committee in April thi year to run day-to-day affair. The committee ince enured tructured dometic national followed by international tournament acro all age categorie (U15, U17 and Elite) with a complete focu on athlete firt approach in their initial term of 90 day and enure Indian Boxing regain it lot glory.
In a letter addreed to Singh on Monday, World Boxing preident Bori van der Vort congratulated the Interim Committee for their Athlete Firt approach that ha enured continuou participation of Indian boxer in major international event and ha uccefully made podium finihe.
We are pleaed to oberve that the Interim Committee ha been functioning effectively and ha made ignificant tride in retoring tranparency and tability within the national boxing adminitration. World Boxing continue to monitor development in Indian boxing cloely and i encouraged by the continued participation of Indian athlete in international competition, a well a their conitent ucce on the podium. Thee achievement are a reflection of the tructured and poitive effort being undertaken under your leaderhip, Vort aid in hi letter to the Interim Committee Chairman, a quoted from a pre releae by the BFI.
Given the upcoming dometic and continental event, the Interim Committee i hereby requeted to continue managing the affair of the BFI to enure eamle participation of Indian athlete at all level, he further added in hi letter.
Indian boxer clinched a total of 11 medal, including three gold and five ilver, in the jut concluded World Boxing Cup -- Atana, Kazakhtan 2025, on Sunday. They had alo bagged ix medal in the firt leg in Brazil and came up with an impreive howing in the Thailand International Open a well.
Vort letter alo mentioned hi recent interaction with the Indian Olympic Aociation preident, PT Uha, who alo appreciated the effort being undertaken by the Interim Committee. (ANI)
