World number 1 Tennis player Andy Murray on Wednesday was knocked out of Wimbledon after he was defeated by Sam Querrey in the quarter-final match.
Murray was defeated by the score of 3-6, 6-4, 6-7 (4), 6-1, 6-1 to America’s Querrey in a five-set thriller on Centre Court.
This was Murray's first tour-level loss to an American player since he was beaten by Alex Bogomolov Jr. in Miami in 2011, and it also means he could lose his place at the top of the world rankings.
Murray's quest for a third Wimbledon title received setback on Centre Court when his aching hip finally gave up on him and Sam Querrey took full advantage of his injury to win the match.
