Spain’s fifth seed Rafael Nadal overpowered American Jack Sock (6-2, 6-3) in straight sets in their quarterfinal encounter to seal a berth in the semi-final of the Miami Masters on Thursday.
The Spaniard dominated the game from the baseline in characteristic style and was successful in making good returns to Sock’s potent serve. Nadal shall now play Italian Fabio Fogini who stunned second seed Kei Nishikori from Japan in the first quarterfinal.

In the other quarterfinals scheduled to commence later on Thursday, Swiss ace Roger Federer shall take on Tomas Berdych while Germany’s Alexander Zverev shall battle it out against Australian Nick Kyrgios.
Nadal had earlier beaten Frenchmen Nicolas Mahut in the fourth round on Wednesday to seal a quarterfinal berth.
